Demetra A. “Dee Dee” Bourbaki, nee Argiris, beloved wife of Socrates P. Bourbaki; devoted daughter of Pandora T. and the late William T. Argiris; devoted sister of the late Clio W. Argiris and Aglaia A. (the late Charles) Matthews; dearest sister-in-law of the late Van (Lonnie) Burbank of Jackson, TN and Sophia Bourbaki of Jefferson, WI; loving aunt and godmother of J. Jason (Suzanne) Matthews of Washington, DC and aunt of William A. (Sharon) Matthews of Boston, MA; great-aunt of Aglaia Alexandra and Sophia E. Matthews; beloved cousin of Dino (Astela) Phillippiou, Maria Eleni Phillippiou of Athens, Greece, Theodore J. (the late Margaret) Rempas of Chicago, IL and the late C. William (Joan) Kontos, former U.S. Ambassador and of many cousins here and in Greece. Retired 40 year Chicago Public School teacher from Kelly High School and Senior Class Sponsor for 20 years. Alumnae of Univ. of Chicago and Master’s and Ph.D. at the Univ. of Colorado at Boulder. Mrs. Bourbaki was a sponsor of the Mayo Foundation, Rochester, MN and patroness of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Art Institute of Chicago and a constant philanthropist of various Greek Orthodox organizations. Funeral Saturday 10:15 a.m. from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, to SS. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Service 11 a.m. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
