Gordon H. Heisler, 61, of Mt. Prospect, was a facilities manager for IBM Corp., where he worked for 42 years, in Rolling Meadows and Chicago. Mr. Heisler, who was born in Maywood, died Monday, Feb. 19, in his home. Mr. Heisler served as a sergeant in the Army reserves for six years in the 1960s. He served as a leader of Boy Scout Troop 23 and Cub Scout Troop 51 in Mt. Prospect in the 1970s and 1980s. Mr. Heisler was a longtime usher at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mt. Prospect, where he had been a member since 1965. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Edith M.; three sons, Jeff, Dan and Todd; a sister, Dolores Mennecke; and four grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, when a service will begin in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mt. Prospect.
