I was so happy to read “Chicago Police return to expressways, After 15 years, cops join state troopers on highways” (Metro, Feb. 8). The state police have not done the job. I hope that the Chicago Police will be able to rein in the reckless truckers who speed, weave from lane to lane abruptly and dangerously, and use the third and fourth lanes with impunity.
In fact, more than once, I was almost knocked off the road by the back end of a semi suddenly changing lanes.
I’ve never seen a state trooper pull over a truck. In fact, I have hardly seen a state trooper at all on the expressways.
