“100-year life expectancy may be 500 years off” (Page 1, Feb. 19)? Ha! Let’s see: We will have run out of oil, radioactive waste will permeate the environment, scores of billions of people will suck Earth’s assets and the so-called “defense” spending will continue to bankrupt us. We’ll be lucky if we live to 47, as we did 100 years ago. We’ll be lucky if humanity survives at all.
