Ida Viola “Vi” Caswell Simes, nee Williams, age 80, born Jan. 31, 1921, died Feb. 19, 2001, wife of the late James Caswell Sr. and Richard Simes; loving mother of five children, James (Joan) Caswell, Carol Caswell, Joyce (Arthur) Campbell, Patricia (Michael) Evans and Frank Caswell, a sixth child, Verdette Caswell preceded her in death; eight wonderful grandchildren, Brian (Hyacinth) Caswell, Shawn (Charles) Thomatis, Sondra (Gilton) Cross, Melanie Caswell, Kimberly Michelle Campbell, Jennifer Campbell, Christopher Samuel Chase Caswell and Nkosi Michael Evans and honorary grandmother to Jerry Rasson Napier and Amber Holliday; four great-grandchildren, Brianna Skye Caswell, Natalie Paige Thomatis, Gilton Derrida Cross and Jai-Winton Xavier Cross; her loving brother, the late Leroy Williams and his family; dearest sister, Sylvia (Juarez) Satisfield; nieces, nephews, cousins and an infinite number of friends and church family.
