Alexandria Nicole McDermott, age 3, of Gurnee, IL, passed away Feb. 19, 2001 at home with her family. Alex died after a 2 year battle with a rare genetic disorder called Leigh Disease. Alex is survived by her parents James and Astrid; brother James “Jay” McDermott; grandparents Paul and Mary McDermott and Helen Castellanos; as well as many aunts, uncles and close friends. Alex was our little princess and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Friends may call at the Marsh Funeral Home of Lindenhurst, 1840 E. Grand Ave., Lindenhurst from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday from St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee. Interment will be private and donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Chicago, 640 N.
