Michael J. Targos Sr., 87, of the Northwest Side of Chicago, died of Parkinson’s disease Sunday, Feb. 18, in Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. Mr. Targos was a molder for 43 years in the foundry of Chicago Faucet Co. Since retiring 22 years ago, Mr. Targos loved to spend time outdoors working on his home and landscaping. “He never wanted to sit,” said his wife, Stephanie. “He could be so stubborn; he even climbed up on the ladder in December to fix the outdoor lights for Christmas. He was used to working hard all his life.” A 25-year member of the Senior Polka Association, he enjoyed the social club’s monthly bingo and raffles, and special events such as its holiday dance in December, where he danced with his wife of 66 years for the last time. He was a member of St. Tarcissus Holy Name Society. Other survivors include four sons, Edward, William, Michael Jr. and Richard; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services have been held.
