There has been much media coverage of the impending teacher shortage, and now I read in “Plan aims to head off nursing crisis” (Page 1, Feb. 15) about the shortage of nurses reaching a crisis stage.
I have never read about a predicted shortage of professional athletes.
Do you think it has anything to do with the value society places on these professions? Or the salary?
