Isabelle C. Bell, 93, of Arlington Heights retired in the 1970s after 20 years as a legal secretary, most recently for 10 years in the law offices of the late Thomas Keane, a former Chicago alderman. Mrs. Bell, a Chicago native, died Friday, Feb. 23, in ManorCare Health Services in Arlington Heights. “She was the youngest of 13 children,” said her son, Robert. “Both of her parents [the late Cornelius and Mary Malone] were born in County Tipperary, Ireland, and came to this country in the late 1800s. Her husband, my father [the late John L. Bell] was a Chicago policeman. She was a very caring woman. … She liked the specialized secretarial work of the legal field, the details that were involved.” Her daughter, Virginia Robinett, said: “She never went out without being well-dressed, with earrings and the whole works. She was very fastidious. She was a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother.” Other survivors include 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren. Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. in our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, Park Street and South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights.
