Ronald J. Trzaskus, 58, a computer systems architect and consultant to the manufacturing, distribution, transportation and retail industries and a former vice president of Beecham Cosmetics Inc. in Chicago, died Saturday, Feb. 24, in Oak Lawn of heart failure. A Chicago native, he lived in Oak Lawn for the last 25 years. Mr. Trzaskus graduated in 1960 from St. Ignatius High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and English from John Carroll University in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University in Chicago. Mr. Trzaskus began his career in 1964 as a computer analyst with Benefit Trust Life Insurance Co. in Chicago. From 1973 until 1979, he was manager of operations planning for The Dial Corp., where he designed and oversaw implementation of automating the world’s largest meat-canning facility. He joined Beecham in 1979 as a vice president and manager of information systems and remained with the company until 1985, when he became an independent computer systems architect and consultant. As a consultant, he designed, implemented and managed automated systems for several manufacturing, distribution, transportation and retail firms, including John Deere Inc. in Moline. Most recently, he worked as a consultant and as a vice president for Comet Systems Inc. in Wauconda, designing and implementing an automated system for a chain of restaurants. Mr. Trzaskus is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Frances; his aunt and godmother, Eleanor Rapata; and several cousins. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at 9 a.m. Thursday in Andrew McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 9349 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn.
