Susan E. Olson, 87, of Palatine died Sunday, Feb. 25, in Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Olson moved to Palatine in the 1930s after she married her late husband, Howard. After she raised her children, Mrs. Olson worked about 15 years in the payroll office at Littelfuse Inc., a Des Plaines company that makes fuses for the automotive and electronics industries. She retired in the early 1970s. Mrs. Olson also served as a volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital. “She was a very upbeat and enthusiastic person,” said her granddaughter, Brenda Fredrick. Other survivors include two sisters, Thelma Vargo and Marjorie Ingrum; and two grandsons. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect.
