The recent suggestion of your award-winning columnist Bob Greene that we add Elvis Presley to Mt. Rushmore is truly laughable.
I’m surprised, though, that Bob did not suggest the obvious politically correct addition to Mt. Rushmore: Chicago’s own Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Indeed, Mr. Greene’s recent criticism of our society’s pathetic and misplaced hero worship of athletes conveniently forgot about his own agog note-taking and writing at the feet of Old No. 23 a few years ago.
