I am outraged by Highland Park’s plan to kill 20 deer in order to control a so-called deer “overpopulation” (Metro, March 1).

There is not conclusive evidence that proves that deer are causing significant environmental damage in Highland Park.

Bottom line: People would rather protect their lawns than the fawns. Killing is a cruel solution to this problem. Instead of focusing on eliminating the deer, we should figure out how we can better coexist with the deer.

We all have a right to life.
