Families can feel philanthropic together at the Caterpillar Ball, a dressy dinner-dance-auction to benefit the United Nations Children’s Fund (you know it as UNICEF), at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Kids dress up along with their parents at this black-tie affair at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive, which offers guests a chance to see the Adler’s new Sky Pavilion’s StarRider Theater and dance to the Stu Hirsh Orchestra and radio disc jockey Dave Fogel. – Sunday warms up with “Heat,” an evening of erotic dance benefiting Season of Concern and Pride 2001. Dancers from “legitimate” companies perform with strippers and entertainers like Miss Tiger and Honey West. 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W.
