The comments by William Nolan of the Fraternal Order of Police, printed in your story about Jeremiah Mearday’s acquittal, demonstrate the thuggish attitude of far too many Chicago police officers. Nolan says the best thing for Mearday to do is move out of Chicago. I guess that’s what the cops recommend for anyone who won’t take his beating quietly.
