“The new MTV: Be afraid” (Tempo, March 21) by Steve Johnson was right on the money in describing MTV’s pitch for a cheap buck at the expense of a generation of youth. Johnson’s vivid conclusions describing the MTV program “Undressed” is a retelling of the moral story “The Emperor has No Clothes.” In that story a child points out the obvious, causing embarrassment to the emperor, who realizes he has been hoodwinked. I am hopeful children today will expose MTV for what it is–a foolish attempt to impress importance where there is no substance.
