“We need you, your parents, your kids and your friends to attend the April 3rd Senate Hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.” That was what a notice posted on Napster’s Web site said last week. The online music-swapping service was desperately trying to drum up support for today’s U.S. Senate hearing on digital copyrights. Napster is in the midst of what appears to be a losing battle against the recording industry; a judge has ordered the service to block copyrighted songs.
