In her assertion that there is no gender-based wage gap in this country, Kathleen Parker cites a 1993 study describing earnings equity between men and childless women, and concludes that earnings discrimination is not gender-based butis based on motherhood (Commentary, April 11). But last time I checked, motherhood was a gender-specific trait.
