What a sad, sad time in our society when the newspaper announced on Good Friday that “Hundred will watch McVeigh die” (Page 1, April 13). As a Catholic priest and preacher, that headline made for an intense sermon: “Jesus continues to be crucified in America all the time, especially on a gurney.”
In other words, has anyone ever noticed that the gurney for lethal injection is in the shape of the cross?
