Gladys Elizabeth Rasmussen Wasson, 87, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, in Springfield, MO, after a short illness. Born May 13, 1913, in Chicago, IL, she was a graduate of Proviso High School where she was the school’s first woman class president. She was also a student at Chicago’s Goodman Theater and went on to perform professionally in Chicago theater. She was a founding member of the Oneness Center and the American Theosophical Society. She was active in Republican Party and issue-oriented politics. She enjoyed reading and travel and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Wasson; her sister Mildred Lyons and brother Earl Rasmussen, both of Chicago. She is survived by her son Calvin and his wife Anne of Little Rock, AR; and a niece Mary Jane McFee and her husband Ken of Sugar Grove, IL; and their children Mark and Kim; grandchildren Sarah Wasson and John Wasson of Little Rock.
