This is responding to “Barenboim refuses to strike Wagner” by John von Rhein (Page 1, May 16). So Hitler liked Wagner; is Wagner bad? If Hitler liked cheese, should we stop eating it? Hitler had a dog; should we stop keeping pets? The Nazis were detestable. Remember their crimes, but let’s not spend so much time studying them that we become like them. Don’t forget that they banned music they didn’t like.
