Your June 10 editorial regarding the McVeigh execution used the overquoted biblical line “an eye for an eye.” Every time I hear that, I’m reminded of the quote from Mohandas Gandhi, who, in explaining why he was against the death penalty, said “an `eye for an eye’ only makes the whole world blind.”
