This is regarding “The non-existence of black conservatives” (Commentary, June 27) by Michael Finch and Thomas Krannawitter, in which they complain about Ebony magazine omitting conservatives in general and Clarence Thomas in particular from its annual list of 100 most influential black Americans.

Maybe the reason for this is because Justice Thomas has done little to distinguish himself in his appointed position. He is nothing more than a carbon copy of the other conservative justices whose opinions he mimics.

Moreover, liberal and conservative philosophies have nothing to do with skin color. It shouldn’t matter to black conservatives that they are snubbed by liberal blacks, as long as their fellow conservatives approve of and acknowledge them.
