Though not yet open, Glen Ellyn’s newest dining establishment will be able to offer its patrons an alfresco option.

The Village Board this week approved a variance to allow Shannon’s Irish Pub, at 428 N. Main St., to have outdoor service. The variance allows them to have patio seating on the west end of the building.

The new restaurant still needs final inspections and approval by the village before it can open, according to Richard Dunn, Glen Ellyn’s planning and development director.
