Volkswagen Group Japan will launch a new Lupo subcompact car in that country. The company hopes to sell 1,500 copies of the Lupo, which will have a 1.4-liter engine and a price equivalent to about $12,000, through the rest of the year. VW’s Japanese sales fell 6 percent in June from a year earlier, to 5,748 cars, in part because of low supply.
