BMW is building a factory in Leipzig, Germany, to produce its 3-Series cars. The factory will be able to turn out up to 650 cars a day after it opens in 2005. BMW will spend up to $860 million on the plant, which will free its Regensburg plant for production of the new 1-Series small cars.
