Ralph O. Gerke, age 74, of St. Charles, IL, formerly of Chicago, born July 11, 1927, died August 13, 2001, beloved husband of Lee, nee Olson; loving father of David (Paula) Gerke of Elgin, Douglas (Yuko) Gerke of Glendale Heights, Laura Doane of St. Charles, Diane (Roy) Lilly of Sycamore, and Christine Gerke of St. Charles; fond brother of Clayton (Betty) Gerke of Wheaton, Ruth (Warren) Kremske of Chicago, Dorothy and Allen Chapman of Chicago; proud grandfather of Joshua Lilly, and Daniel, Rebecca and Tyler Gerke; kind uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He began his career in graphic arts with Grant/Jacoby Inc. in Chicago, and retired as vice president of production after 44 years of service. He was a long-standing member of Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake. A Memorial Hymn Sing Service will be held Friday, August 17, 2001 10:30 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 5N600 Hanson Road, Lily Lake. Memorials may be made to The Kidney Foundation, Northwesten Hospital, and Provena Hospice.
