Richard Chraca (“Other Views,” Aug. 12) claims that the only thing CART needs to do to improve its image is to have a series of oval races. How about adding a few American drivers?
As it stands the league consists of an embarrassing mixture of foreign racers whose names can neither be spelled correctly nor pronounced properly. Unless and until the public begins identifying with its drivers, CART will keep moving full speed on its current collision course with disaster.
