Anne S. Eggleston, age 77, of 2410 Opportunity Lane, Plover WI, died Thursday, August 23, at home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday August 28, at Plover United Methodist Church in Plover, WI. Rev. Marvin Rowe will officiate. Friends may call at Boston Funeral Home, in Stevens Point, WI on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Cremation will follow. Anne was born January 26, 1924 in Anamosa, IA to the late Ownis and Bess, nee McMurrin, Sherman. She attended college in Chicago and received a Masters Degree in Teaching. She taught Kindergarten many years in the Riverside School District in Riverside, IL, retiring in 1981. She married Edward E. Eggleston in Chicago at the First United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death July 9, 1995. She moved to Plover with her husband in 1993. She was active in the Plover United Methodist Church, a member of the Stevens Point Retired Teachers Association and of the Christian Women’s Club. She also enjoyed knitting, giving many Afghans to friends and family. She was devoted to her family and grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Edward (Nancy) of Plover; three grandsons, Adam, Zach and Sam; two sisters, Sheryl (Jack) Leonard of Anamosa, IA and Audrey (Ernie) Purcell of Montgomery, TX. She is preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Newhard.
