If the Bears and the city do not listen to reason and adopt the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois suggestion (as reported in the Aug. 22 Tribune) and build a new retractable dome football stadium next to Comiskey Park, here is another idea: The current plan of plopping a new stadium inside the old and incredibly ugly Soldier Field will just make the existing monstrosity worse. Tear down Soldier Field, replace it with a new, esthetically pleasing stadium and call it–Soldier Field.
