Gary Condit’s TV interview with Connie Chung was a classic textbook example of how the elite in this country can manipulate the media and circumvent justice with impunity.

With a battery of high-priced lawyers and advisers at his side to direct his every move, Condit looked well-rehearsed yet, incredibly, still managed to sound arrogant and evasive. His cold, unattached demeanor reminded me of former President Bill Clinton’s firm denials up until that infamous soiled dress turned up, resulting in a complete beg-for-mercy flip-flop.

The point is, a person lacking monetary means in this same situation would have been tossed in jail by now or, at the very least, hounded out of their minds by pushy detectives and politically minded prosecutors–whether the accused was guilty or not.

Not so in this case.
