Harold C. Meyer Sr., 79, of Hanover Park, a retired punch-press operator, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, in Hines Veterans Affairs Hospital. Born in Chicago, Mr. Meyer was raised in Bensenville and served four years in the Army during World War II. He returned to Chicago after the war and spent the next 40 years as a punch-press operator at Punch-Lock Co., a manufacturer of clamps in Chicago. He retired in the late 1980s. He is survived by a son, Harold C. Jr.; five daughters, Linda Stokes, Lillian Boryca, Karen Banks, Kathy Suchocki and Kitty Luhr; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Elk Grove Village.
