Robert Bauer, 38, of Danville, IL, passed away at 2:39 p.m. at Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville on Friday, August 31, 2001. He was born the son of Peter and Lydia Juhn Bauer on April 2, 1963, in Chicago, IL. He married Mary A. Crabb on June 10, 1989, in Torrington, CT. She survives of Danville. Other survivors include three daughters: Laura Nancy, Jennifer Lydia and Kimberley Aleida Bauer, all of Danville, IL; his parents, Peter and Lydia Bauer of Evanston, IL; his mother-in-law, Nancy P. Crabb, of East Liverpool, OH; a brother, Richard (Kathy) Bauer of Evanston, IL; two nieces, Mary Catherine and Sara Jacqueline Bauer of Evanston, IL. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Norman T. Crabb and both of his maternal and paternal grandparents. Robert was employed at Consumers Illinois Water Company in Danville, IL and was the manager of the Water Treatment Plant. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville, helped with Habitat For Humanity, Kiwanis, HALO, Leadership For Tomorrow Group, was an avid model railroader, served as the current Secretary for Danville Junction Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and as President for the MATS Program. Services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2001, at 11 a.m. in St. James United Methodist Church, Danville, with Pastors Russell Smith and Tiffany Black, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Education Trust Fund for his children care of St. James United Methodist Church.
