Janet Conger, a longtime resident of Grant Place known for her neighborliness, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Warren Barr Pavilion. Her back yard was a gathering place for many events for residents of the area. Before her retirement, Miss Conger, 69, was a real estate salesperson on the North Side and previously had worked many years in advertising. A native of Evanston, she was a graduate of Evanston Township High School and the University of Illinois, Champaign. Miss Conger was active in the Mid-North Association. She also had served as an officer of the Lincoln Park Conservation Association. She is survived by many friends. A memorial is being planned.
