Laura M. Fuchs, nee Polechensky, 73, of Mt. Vernon, IN, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at her home, of cancer. Born Jan. 28, 1928 in Chicago, daughter of Anton and Lucy, nee Drysch, Polechensky. Graduated from Morton West High School, Berwyn, IL. Worked at the Chicago Herald Times and was a housewife. Member of First United Methodist Church, Western Hills Country Club and the Ladies Golf Association, the Ramblers Literary Society, was a member and volunteer tax aid with AARP and had been a Girl Scout Leader in Mt. Vernon. Wife of the late Harvey D.; mother of Lawrence of Chicago, Lorelei Barnes of Mt. Vernon and Leslee Fuchs of Evansville, IN; grandmother of Jeramie, Jeffrey and Shalena Barnes; great-grandmother of Jacob Cones, Krystal Barnes and Harley Bumpas.
