Emmett M. Harmon, 74, passed way August 21, 2001, beloved husband of the late Joan Carol Harmon; preceded in death by son Lee (Susan) Harmon; cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Robert) Baird, and Bill Harmon all of Seattle, WA; fond uncle to Bryan (Joyce) Allen; great-uncle to Steven Welter Allen and Charli Emmett Allen; devoted brother to Jane (Charli) Mathis, and the late Nancy (Don) Gillogly; brother-in-law of Jean Allen; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews; and endless friends. Emmett was a research and analytical chemist. His long career included research at Elgin State Hospital, two years of work in travel in Thailand and the establishment of his own laboratory in Glen Ellyn. Emmett continued working as an expert witness in court trials until the time of his death. He was a very kind and gentle man who loved being with family members and friends of all ages. He will be missed dearly, but forever in our hearts. Memorial services Saturday, September 8, at Villa Park Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 410 S. Cornell, Villa Park. Visitation 2 p.m., Services 3 p.m.
