James J. McDaniel, of Palatine, age 80, passed away Sept. 5, 2001 after a long illness. Those who live in the Lord, never see each other for the last time. He is survived by his bride of 59 years, Dorothy; his son Patrick (Paula) McDaniel of Palatine and daughters Kathe (Robert) Slater of Palatine and Wendy (Thomas) Horton of Lake Zurich; and his brother Wayne (Delores) also of Palatine; his family also included seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, with visitation Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Jim was the President of International Exterminator Co., a former President and Director of the Illinois Pest Control Association and past Regional Vice President of the National Pest Control Association. He also earned a 50 Year Award from Purdue University. He was a resident of Palatine and a member of Christ Lutheran Church for 43 years. Each member of his family celebrates his magnificent life, he was our reason–our season, and will be loved and missed for a lifetime.
