Neison Harris, 86, beloved husband of Bette, nee Deutsch; dear brother of Irving Harris and June Barrows; loving father of Kathy Harris (Robert Jendra), King (Caryn) Harris and Toni (Ron) Paul; grandfather of Pam (Joe) Szokol, Bill (Linda) Friend and Scott Friend, John Harris, and Charles, Kelly, Laurie and Alan Paul; greatgrandfather of Kim, Elizabeth and William Szokol, Nina, Jack and Matthew Friend, Tynan and Olivia Friend; loving uncle to many. Soon after graduating from Yale in 1936, he entered the beauty supply business and founded the Toni Home Permanent Company in 1943. He sold Toni to Gillette in 1948 and remained as President of Toni until 1957. After building a successful bowling and tennis business, he became President of Pittway Corporation in 1962, then Chairman in 1984. Pittway grew to become a Fortune 500 industrial company and was sold to Honeywell in 1999. Visitation on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Harris family home. Memorial service on Monday, Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m. at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Rd. in Glencoe.
