John E. “Jack” Hutchinson, 82, of Naperville, a retired engineer, died Wednesday, Aug. 29 in his home. Born in Easton, Pa., Mr. Hutchinson served during World War II in the Army artillery as an instructor of officers at Ft. Sill, Okla. He was then based in Okinawa, Japan, prior to his discharge in 1946 as a major after serving five years. He studied engineering at Cornell University in New York and received his master’s degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He retired from the Fluor Corp. in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, John and Mark; and five grandchildren. There will be no services.
