Edmund J. Kreczmer, 83, of Lake Holiday Sandwich, IL, formerly of Chicago, Roseland area, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001 at his home. He was born August 8, 1918 in Chicago, IL. He married Angeline H. Gorski on June 6, 1942 in Chicago, IL. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He worked for US Steel for 40 years. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Turner Funeral Home, 13160 W. Rt. 34, Somonauk, IL, 815-498-2363 , with a Wake service being recited at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to FVOAS of Sandwich, IL 60548 or Home Health Hospice of Community Hospital of Ottawa, IL 61350. He is survived by his wife, Angeline “Angie”; his children, Judith A. (John) Fernandes of Shorewood, IL and Linda M. (Wally) Watt of St. John, IN; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; three brothers and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy; five brothers and two sisters.
