Phillip Simon Francis Pierce, 53, husband of Dorothy H. Pierce, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. A native of Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Cecelia Dudzik Pierce. He was a decorated Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the First Cavalry Division; among survivors are two brothers, Fred Pierce of Long Island, NY, Larry Pierce of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Barbara Dodson of Huntington Beach, CA, Mary Frank of Malverne, NY, and Cecilia Brewer of Long Beach, NY. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 at the Chapel of McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
