Lottie M. Schur, age 83, of Sheboygan, WI, died peacefully at home with her family at her side Friday evening, September 7, 2001. Lottie was born September 27, 1917, in Vicksburg, MI. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary Kowalski. On August 31, 1940, Lottie married Ben Schur of Chicago, IL. In 1953 the family moved to Palatine, IL, and resided at 337 S. Hale St. After the 1973 death of her husband, Ben, she lived with family in Sheboygan, WI, for several years, then moved to Chesapeake, VA. She returned to Sheboygan in May 2000 where she resided until her death. While in Virginia she was active with the Senior Olympics, winning several medals in the walking competition. She participated in the Meals On Wheels at her local Chesapeake, VA, parish. Lottie is survived by her four children, Barney (Claudia) Schur of Sheboygan, Eileen (John) Demko of Toledo, OH, Jerry (Jackie) Schur of Sleepy Hollow, IL, and Linda Miller of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Alice Dunkovich of LaGrange, IL; one brother, Richard Kowalski of Van Nuys, CA; 12 grandchildren, Chuck Schur, Tim Schur, Mike Schur, Shelley Demko, Lisa Demko, Mark Demko, Bryan Schur, Brett Schur, Bridgett Schur, Tracy Monroe and her favorite Kevin Nidel; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Schur, Allison Schur, Hailey Monroe and Lauren Schur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ben Schur; five brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, at Ahlgrim & Sons in Palatine, IL. Friends may attend visitation services on Monday, September 10, from 4 to 9 p.m., at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, IL. 847-358-7411. A prayer service at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday with celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Parish, 465 N. Benton St., Palatine, IL. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Ben, at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her name.
