Marilyn “Pat” Bennett, nee Janda, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1982 and formerly of Lombard, IL, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001. A nurse for 25 years at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, IL, Pat was most recently a longtime volunteer for the Placitas, NM Volunteer Fire Brigade where she served as Captain. The Main Fire Station in Placitas was recently named after her and her husband, Bill. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin and later received her Master’s in Nursing from Northern Illinois University. Pat was a member of the University of Wisconsin Nurses Alumni Organization and a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William B. Bennett Jr. of Placitas, NM; sons, Michael (Melanie) of LaValle, WI, William B. III (Suzanne) of Glendale Heights, IL and Martin (Cindy) of Minburn, IA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, 11 a.m. at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church, 636 Hwy. 165 in Placitas, NM, with Rev. Jane Harmes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Placitas Volunteer Fire Brigade, P.O. Box 567, Placitas, NM 87043 or to Las Placitas Presbyterian Church, P.O.
