Dorothy W. Brethauer, nee Weston, of Brookfield, age 88, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 at her home. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Frederick L. Brethauer; and sister Grace McCammon. Loving mother of David (Linda) and Russell (Margaret); grandmother of Erin, Isaac and Jordan. Born in Denver, CO, Feb. 5, 1913 to Grace and Chester Weston. She spent her youth in Evanston, IL where she attended Roycemore School and Northwestern University where she met lifelong friend Elizabeth Lent. She and Frederick married on Sept. 19, 1936 and moved to Brookfield, WI, where they raised their two sons. A resident of Brookfield for 54 years, Dorothy spent her adult life in volunteer service through the Junior League, Hospice Care, and Ronald McDonald House. She was an active parishioner at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI, where a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m., Rev. Dr. Douglas Sparks will officiate. A gathering for family and friends will precede the service at 9 a.m. in the church hall. Memorials to the Ronald McDonald House or St. Matthias Church appreciated.
