Kristine Andersen, 101, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Chicago, died Friday September 7, 2001, born in Borglum, Denmark. Kristine immigrated to the United States in 1923. She was a cook by profession and worked at Lydia Children’s Home, Danish Old People’s Home, in Norwood Park and may churchs. She had a quick wit and good sense of humor and could tell a good story of earlier years before electricity, automobiles, washing machines and airplanes. She adapted to each new invention with joy and enthusiasum. The two most important things in her life were her faith and her family. She provided humor, friendship, understanding, love, guidance and faithfulness. We were truly blessed to have shared our lives with her. She is survived by daughter Esther (Paul), Alice Townsend, son John (Maxine); 10 grandchildren and 15 grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Rockford, IL.
