On Wednesday, while trying to resume my daily normal activities by going for my morning walk, I found myself counting the flags that my neighbors had hung out in front of their homes in Orland Park in memory of the people who lost their lives in Tuesday’s senseless act of terrorism.

On a 1-mile stretch, I was astounded that I counted 50 American flags hanging in tribute.

I sincerely implore the American people to fly their American flags proudly during the next month, not only in mourning for those lives lost in the tragedy of Tuesday but to show the world that America will remain strong and united even in the face of such incredible adversity.
