Victor M. Rivera, age 59, of Rolling Meadows, died Sept. 11, 2001 in Northwest Community Hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 21, 1941 in Cidra, Puerto Rico, son of Amador and Castula Rivera; married Luz I. Perez. Owned and operated his own business for many years in the Humboldt Park area. Sponsored softball teams in the Roberto Clemente League. Survivors include wife Luz I. Perez Rivera; five children, Awilda (the late Joseph) Prignano, Victor M. Jr., Denise (Joseph) Schneider, Wilfredo (Elga) and Jose A. (Judy); grandchildren Lila, Jessica, Nicholas, Joan, Josean, Wilmarie and William; parents Amador and Castula Rivera; brothers and sisters, Carmen, Virginia, the late Julia, Angelica, Juan, Jesus, David, Julio, the late Migdalia; loving uncle of 37; and godfather of five; many dear and close friends. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 in St. Coletta Catholic Church. Burial in Rand Hill Park Cemetery. Visitation at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., 847-253-0224, Friday from3 to 9 p.m.
