Gladys Wise Felzak, 76, left for Heaven Sept. 12, 2001 at Mission Hospital, Mission, TX after a lengthy illness and excruciating spinal pain. She was born March 17, 1925 in Chicago, IL. She had worked for many years as a tuner for the Musser Co. in LaGrange, IL. Gladys had perfect pitch and tuned vibes and marimba for many notable musicians. Gladys loved Texas and Las Vegas and will be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her. She had been a resident of Mission since 1988 and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Mission. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph C. Felzak; brother, John Walacha; sister-in-law, Mary Walacha; three sons, Paul, Harry and Steve by a previous marriage; daughters-in-law, Sharon, Debbie and Kathy; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Felzak was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Rose Walacha; and brother, Rudy Walacha. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Felzak was cremated. Arrangements are under the care of Virgil Wilson Mortuary, Mission, TX.
