John “Jack” Griffin, age 80, of Three Lakes, WI, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 at the Eagle River Memorial Hospital. “Jack” was born on March 18, 1921 in Chicago to Thomas and Katherine Griffin. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He was also a pilot and an avid golfer. Formerly of Mt. Prospect, IL “Jack” had been a resident of Three Lakes for the past 32 years. He was a member of the Senior Men’s Golf League at Big Stone in Three Lakes, WI. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. “Jack” is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Griffin of Three Lakes, WI; daughters, Kathleen (Charles) McCormick of Dayton, OH, Susan (Jay) Segal of Los Angeles, CA, Mary Beth (Phillip) Riley of Santa Clara, CA, Theresa (John) Ray of Denver, CO and Loretta (Alfonso) Lopez of Mt. Prospect, IL; son, John J. Griffin Jr. of Chicago; sister, Mary “Sis” Schwaba of Three Lakes, WI; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes, WI. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Family has requested that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI.
