Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
I have long thought that all commercial airliners should be constructed with a solid bulkhead separating the passenger compartment and the pilots’ compartment. If there is trouble in the passenger cabin, the flight crew could push a button to light a warning light on the pilot’s console. This would indicate trouble to the pilot and he or she would land at the nearest airport that could accommodate that size jet.
This would work for heart attacks, drunks, hijackers and whatever else may happen.
If potential hijackers knew that they could not get to the controls or the pilots, they would think several times about hijacking a plane. Control would stay with the pilot.
